Carl-Otto Johansson lives in Kalmar on the South-East coast of Sweden, and makes music under the name Orphan Songs.

He was singer and songwriter in the Swedish indie band Eyedrop who released the critically acclaimed album “You And Me Vs. The Machine” back in 2002 on Swedish indie Dead Frog Records. Eyedrop split up in 2005 in the early stages of recording their second album and in the aftermath of the break-up, Carl-Otto got single custody over the songs left behind – his “Orphan Songs”.

Soon his family of melodies got bigger as he started writing new material and set out to record a solo album, a project that took years to complete. Produced in his home studio, Carl-Otto plays almost every instrument himself with occasional help from his former Eyedrop bandmates – drummer Mathias Jonsson and bassist Henrik Johansson.

The solo debut "Orphan Songs" was first released in 2008. In 2011 it was re-released under a Creative Commons license (BY-SA).

Please let me know if you intend to use the music for bigger projects or commercial purposes.
